The Russian Futurists are set to release long awaited album, The Weight’s On The Wheels, this summer. The Weight’s On The Wheels is arguably The Russian Futurists most accomplished creation to date. The Russian Futurists return to the stage to make their first live appearance after a year in the studio in celebration of Wavelength 500! Wavelength is a weekly live music series based in Toronto. It was founded in late 1999 by a loose collective of frustrated yet hopeful independent musicians trying to breathe some life into some of the darker corners of Toronto’s perpetually overlooked indie music scene. Documenting local cultural history was their aim — as such, every Wavelength series show since the start has been numbered. Wavelength has helped launch the career trajectories of now-internationally renowned Torontonian and Canadian artists like The Russian Futurists, Holy Fuck, Cadence WeaponThe Cansecos, Broken Social Scene, The Constantines, Final Fantasy, The Hidden Cameras, Great Lake Swimmers, Tokyo Police Club, Peaches, Caribou, Junior Boys, Crystal Castles, Fucked Up and many others. boy Cadence Weapon has done it again! Just when we thought the week couldn’t get any better for Cadence Weapon, after being interviewed on CBC Radio’s The Current by the one and only Shania Twain, Canada’s newest national broadcast music television station AUX.TV named Cadence Weapon & Shout Out Out Out Out’s music video for “Coming Home” the #1 Music Video of 2009! For those of you who haven’t seen “Coming Home”, it’s one of the hottest music videos we’ve seen in along time, literally! These guys are on fire! Literally! Congrats to Cadence Weapon and Shout Out Out Out Out; and a huge thank you to everyone at AUX.TV who enjoy this music video as much as we do! Click here to listen to Shania Twain interviewing Cadence Weapon.

Canada’s newest national broadcast music television station AUX.TV caught up with DVAS prior to their sold out NYE show at The Garrison in Toronto. You can watch the interview online on the AUX.TV Guide to New Music page. Find out how the DVAS name originated, how the boys make magic at their live shows, as well as their plans for world domination and haircuts in 2010!

As for New Year’s Eve, if you missed the Shit La Merde party, you probably won’t hear many people talking about it because everyone there was way too crunk to comment!! DVAS had the crowd hot and bothered both on the dance floor and jumping on the stage as they rang in the New Year with a balloon/confetti-soaked set of DVAS high energy trance-dance-pop musique.

Next up for DVAS, the release of their new single “Society” coming very soon. Stay Tuned for news on this!!
