CADENCE WEAPON Collaborates with A-Trak, Hits Glastonbury, Roskilde, Lollapalooza, V-Fest and Announces his First Headline Canadian Tour

September 9, 2008

After a whirlwind 2008; marked by the critically acclaimed release of his sophomore album Afterparty Babies, and with over 100 performances across North America and Europe – including stops at Lollapalooza, Glastonbury, V-Fest and Roskilde, Cadence Weapon aka Roland Pemberton aka Rollie the youngster Producer/Songwriter/Performer from Edmonton is back to continue the electro-hype across Canada.

Since the release of Afterparty Babies in March through Upper Class Recordings (Canada), Epitaph Records/Anti- (USA) and Big Dada Recordings/Ninja Tune (Europe), Cadence Weapon has been touring non-stop, sharing stages with the likes of Public Enemy, Santogold, Roots Manuva, and Crystal Castles, playing all the major music festivals and legendary clubs like London UK’s Fabric and Barcelona’s Razzmatazz, while still finding time to blast out the freshest music around.

Cadence’s recent collaboration with fellow Canadian DJ A-Trak and UK electro-king Herve is on the cover mount of the September Mixmag, and all over the blogs. Heard it yet? ‘Roll With The Winners’

Cadence also collaborated this summer on tracks with Freq Nasty, Simian Mobile Disco and Drop The Lime, remixed the new Roots Manuva single “Buff Nuff”, and has recorded a brand new mixtape called Separation Anxiety that will be available exclusively for the upcoming Canadian Tour.

So it is with great excitement we announce Cadence Weapon is bringing the magic home to headline his first ever Canadian Tour, September 25 – October 18. 13 Canadian cities can expect the Cadence Weapon rap power as they will be jamming the blazers from Breaking Kayfabe and Afterparty Babies at
full volume.

To celebrate the Great Canadian Cadence Weapon Tour, Upper Class Recordings is pleased to debut the brand new video for “Real Estate”, an undisputable top jam of Afterparty Babies and of the Cadence Weapon live show. This colourful new vid, directed by RT! (Sean Paul, Kardinal Offishall), continues on the path of Cadence’s creatively bizarre and challenging videos; this visual journey taking him to the
island tropics, the great icy north, the corporate world, the inner city and beyond, moving property at alarming rates, apparently causing choreographed dance breakouts. The video is with Muchmusic and Musiqueplus exclusively until Sep 28, followed by premieres on PitchforkTV, MySpace, AOL, Spinner, ExclaimTV, and more!
