Newsflash: It’s summer time, and Cadence Weapon is about to party.

Massive congratulations to Cadence Weapon, Spy Entertainment, Cosmonaut directors Chris Grismer and Duane Chrichton, and the post-geniuses Jay Lee & Matt Biloitz as the acclaimed “Sharks” video, after more than 16 weeks in rotation at Muchmusic, Musiqueplus and MuchVibe, has been nominated for a 2007 Muchmusic Video Award for “Best Post Production”.

Cadence’s debut album Breaking Kayfabe is making waves in the USA, thanks to his new USA label Epitaph Records – hitting Top 10 on the CMJ US Hip Hop charts for “Sharks” while the video is in rotation at Fuse’s “The Worm”, San Francisco’s “Video Vision”, topping 30,000 Youtube.com views, and hitting hard in the press – making URB Magazine’s “Illustious Next 100”, XLR8R’s “Audiofile” and “SXSW Cribs” and Resonance’s “HOT NEW MUSIC” features.

Pitchforkmedia.com has announced Cadence Weapon will join the stage at the 2007 Pitchfork Music Festival – July 15th at Union Park in Chicago, alongside other alt-favourites Sonic Youth, Yoko Ono, Clipse, De La Soul, The New Pornographers, among others.

Mr. Weapon is applying the final coat to his sophomore release, busy remixing the likes of Kid Sister, Camoflage Nights and Shiny Toy Guns and alas, doing some summer party shows, but not before headlining his first Edmonton show – JUNE 8 at THE STARLITE ROOM – since 2005!
